As Don Pardo Once Remarked,
I’M ON TV!
Yup it’s confirmed. Next Tuesday morning, I will be appearing on A-Channel Ottawa’s Breakfast Television/Morning Show. This is the first of hopefully many media pushes over the next few weeks.
I had an email confirmation from an Ottawa newspaper already, so as long as I perform well, I may be able to use it as a springboard.Had a good day on Friday [they’re all turning out that way lately]. The A-Channel information is as follows:
- I meet the floor manager at 7:20 am
- I’m on for four minutes at 7:40 am.
- Their six questions are:
- What is the content?
- Who’s it aimed at?
- How was it developed?
- Why did you decide to do this?
- Where will it be distributed?
- When is Ironlungfish Press sending it out? [What’s next?]
- They want me to bring along a copy of the magazine
- The broadcast/hosting rights are $250 for a year, and it’s no problem to throw it onto Youtube and Google Video if I want.
I re-worded the questions slightly to make them fit the “W5″ model for the sake of rehearsal, but I think that I’m not too off-base with my assumptions. It’s interesting to see how many different interests I’ll be ostensibly catering to with this little spot.
Essentially, everyone.
- A-Channel looks at it from a ‘local boy makes good’ perspective, so I have to respect that;
- I’m trying to get the word out to the Educators;
- hook sponsors;
- give parents information about age-appropriateness;
- get kids excited;
- raise the interest of other media outlets;
- project a sense of professionalism in order to show that I can get along in a board room setting.
All in four minutes. That’s roughly 40 seconds per answer.
Yikes!And I still have the mock up to produce for Monday.
