About

Flashlight is a free anthology that uses the fun and excitement of comics to build literacy.

Flashlight’s strong visual appeal and variety of stories and genres directly addresses the issue of boy’s literacy, while remaining inclusive and engaging to boys and girls — allowing schools to provide students with unique material that supports and enriches their reading exercises.

And Flashlight is always free to schools, with copies for every student in grades four through eight.

Flashlight is distributed six times per school year, just before the major breaks. Copies arrive separated into lots according to class sizes.

The stories in flashlight are assigned reading levels to support school’s balanced literacy programs. They are also approved by the comics code authority, the most widely accepted third-party review board for age-appropriate content.
